Recently, Honda officially unveiled its all-new compact SUV, the Elevate, in India. The vehicle will be manufactured in India and initially sold primarily in the domestic market. However, Honda has expressed plans to eventually expand its presence to global markets.

Developed based on the concept of "Urban Freestyler," the Elevate boasts dimensions of 4312mm in length, 1790mm in width, 650mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2650mm, aiming to create a more spacious rear seating area. The exterior design features a bold and masculine approach, with a prominent hexagonal grille occupying a significant portion of the front face. It is accentuated by thick chrome embellishments connecting with the headlights. The upper portion of the headlights serves as daytime running lights, while the lower section incorporates LED headlights. The front lip also includes a silver under-spoiler design, adding a more aggressive look to the front end. The rear design echoes the overall theme, with L-shaped LED taillights and a black garnish strip connecting them, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

Inside the cabin, the Elevate offers a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch multifunction display screen on the center console. Connectivity features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Honda CONNECT will be provided. Additionally, high-end variants will include Honda Sensing driver-assist systems like adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and Honda LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring.

In terms of powertrain, the Honda Elevate is equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC dual overhead cam gasoline engine, capable of delivering a maximum output of 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. It will be available with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). To adapt to the road conditions in Southeast Asia, the Elevate features a ground clearance of 220mm, providing enhanced off-road capability, coupled with a 5.2m turning radius for easier maneuverability in urban driving scenarios.
Following its global debut in India, the Elevate will open for reservations in July. It will compete against rival models in the same segment, including the recently introduced Toyota Yaris Cross in Indonesia, as well as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Suzuki Grand Vitara.
