Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID. Buzz LWB model in California, USA. As the long-wheelbase version of the ID. Buzz, the new vehicle features an extended wheelbase of 250mm, accommodating a third row of seats and offering a larger battery capacity and higher horsepower. The ID. Buzz LWB is expected to launch in the North American market in 2024, and Volkswagen also plans to introduce the ID. Buzz GTX (high-performance) version and a camper variant.

The exterior design of the ID. Buzz LWB remains consistent with the standard version, with a noticeable elongation in the side profile. In addition to the existing color options available for the European-spec models, three new special colors have been added: Cabana Blue, Metro Silver, and Indium Grey.

The interior of the ID. Buzz LWB is similar to the standard version, featuring the main design language of the ID. family. It offers three different cabin color options and utilizes vegan-friendly faux leather materials. In terms of features, it includes a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, 12-way power-adjustable heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and power-operated tailgate. Optional features include Harman Kardon sound system. The vehicle provides a total of eight USB-C charging ports, along with a 110V power outlet in the front and a traditional 12V power socket in the cargo area.

The wheelbase of the new vehicle has been extended to 3239mm, and the length has increased to 4887mm. It adopts a three-row seating configuration, offering a choice between a 2-3-2 seven-seat layout for higher passenger capacity or a more spacious 2-2-2 six-seat layout. The rear seats can be folded down to increase cargo space.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with a 1.5-square-meter glass roof that features adjustable tint control, allowing for the adjustment of sunlight intensity inside the cabin.
In terms of powertrain, the ID. Buzz LWB is available with the 82kWh battery option from the standard ID. Buzz model, as well as a new 91kWh battery. The electric motor delivers a maximum power of 210kW (286 horsepower) and peak torque of 560Nm.
