At the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show, BYD unveiled its all-new mid-sized SUV — the production version of the BYD Song L. The vehicle's exterior adopts BYD's latest "Pioneer Dragon Face Aesthetics" design language.
The new model boasts a refined overall design. Its front end exudes a sense of sportiness and sharpness. The prominent "dragon fang" design on either side of the front grille exudes dominance, while chrome strips resembling "dragon whiskers" connect the headlights to the central mesh, creating an appealing visual effect with shifting light and shadow.
From the side, the car has a low-slung posture. The descending roofline gives the rear of the car a compact appearance. Multiple waistlines on the side enhance the vehicle's sense of power and dynamism. The taillights feature a flowing design, and the car will also be equipped with a retractable rear spoiler. The overall dimensions of the BYD Song L are 4840/1950/1560mm, with a wheelbase of 2930mm.
In terms of power, the new vehicle is built on the e-platform 3.0 and will incorporate the CTB battery-body integration technology, intelligent electronic all-wheel drive, and the Yunrui system, among others. According to previous information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the car will offer both single and dual motor versions. The all-wheel-drive variant will feature front and rear motors, with maximum power outputs of 150kW and 230kW respectively. The single motor version will have a maximum power output of 230kW."

Currently, the styling of BYD's pure electric mid-sized SUVs tends to be more traditional. However, the newly introduced Song L breaks this mold. Its sporty fastback design is executed flawlessly, making it the most eye-catching feature of the vehicle.
