Toyota Recalls Nearly 1.9 Million RAV4 Vehicles

Recently, according to overseas reports, Toyota announced a recall of nearly 1.9 million RAV4 vehicles in the United States. The reason for the recall is the potential displacement of the 12-volt battery in the vehicles during sharp turns, which could pose a fire hazard.

The models affected by this recall include Toyota RAV4 vehicles from the years 2013 to 2018. In a statement, Toyota mentioned that a portion of the 12-volt batteries used in these vehicles has smaller top dimensions, and if not properly tightened, the battery could shift, leading to a short circuit and an increased risk of fire.

Toyota stated that they are currently working on a solution, and once the remedy is ready, dealerships will replace the affected vehicles with new securing devices, battery trays, and positive terminal covers. Owners will be notified by the end of December. North American vehicle owners can visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls, input their vehicle identification number to check if their RAV4 is affected by this issue.
