Recently, Stellantis Group officially announced that it will shut down unprofitable automobile brands in the future, due to its financial performance for the first half of 2024 falling short of expectations. The group's net revenue for the first half of the year was €85.02 billion, approximately ¥670.199 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14%, and lower than the expected €87 billion. The net profit for the first half of the year was €5.65 billion, approximately ¥44.538 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 48%, and lower than the expected €6.97 billion.

The official announcement did not specify which brands would be shut down, but it is speculated that Lancia, DS, and Alfa Romeo are relatively at risk, as these brands are more niche and have lower sales volumes. Additionally, the Maserati brand might be sold by the Stellantis Group. Other brands with better financial situations, such as Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Citroën, and Jeep, are less likely to be shut down.
