On the morning of September 29, 2023, NIO announced that their 1,900th battery swap station has officially been established, located in the Wushan service area of the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway. With this addition, the total number of battery swap stations nationwide has reached 1,904.
As of September 29th, 599 new battery swap stations have been added this year alone. The pace of establishment will accelerate, with a faster rate of completion anticipated for the stations.
NIO users have conducted more than 29 million battery swaps to date, averaging 60,000 swaps daily. This equates to a car leaving the station fully charged every 1.44 seconds on average.
Nationwide, 560 high-speed battery swap stations have been established, creating a comprehensive battery swap network that spans 6 major vertical highways and 4 horizontal ones, covering 8 major city clusters. This established network will continue to be densified. By 2025, a comprehensive 9-vertical by 9-horizontal highway network, encompassing 19 major city clusters, is expected to be completed, ensuring that users can smoothly travel the highways at will.
In addition to offering better charging assurance, NIO's battery swap network also supports battery upgrades. More than 100,000 battery upgrade services have been provided to date, assisting users in expanding their travel range.
As of September 29th, NIO has established 1,904 battery swap stations across the country, of which 560 are high-speed stations. They've also set up 3,193 charging stations and 18,656 charging piles, with an additional 890,000+ third-party charging piles available.
