Leap Motor Officially Enters The UK Market With Two Electric Vehicles

According to media reports, on March 19, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leap Motor announced that its joint venture with Stellantis has officially launched the sale of two Leap Motor models in the UK market, using Stellantis's dealership network.

The two models now available in the UK are the compact electric car T03 and the large electric SUV C10. A mid-sized SUV, the B10, is expected to launch later this year. Currently, staff at 44 Stellantis dealerships across the UK have been trained to sell these two models.

Damien Dally, Managing Director of Leap Motor UK, stated that by the end of 2025, Leap Motor will be selling cars through 80 Stellantis dealerships in the UK, with more dealers expected to join next year.

Dally mentioned that the T03 starts at £15,995 (approximately $20,763) in the UK, making it the second cheapest electric vehicle in the country, behind only the Dacia Spring from Renault. However, Dally emphasized that Leap Motor is not looking to start a price war in the UK market, but instead aims to offer cars with superior technology and features at competitive prices compared to competitors.

The C10 starts at £36,500 in the UK. Despite being larger than the BYD Atto 3, the C10 is priced about £1,000 lower.

"Our goal is to become the most cost-effective electric vehicle brand in the UK, while offering top-tier configurations and the latest technology. With the support of Stellantis, the fourth-largest car manufacturer globally, consumers can feel more confident," said Dally.

For example, the Leap T03 comes equipped with a central touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control.

Stellantis has also begun producing the T03 for the European market at a factory in Poland.

As the UK does not impose tariffs on electric vehicles made in China, these cars will be produced in China for sale in the UK.

Leap Motor's collaboration with Stellantis dates back to October 2023, when Stellantis invested around €1.5 billion to acquire a 21% stake in Leap Motor, making Stellantis a key shareholder and securing two seats on Leap Motor's board. According to a previous announcement from Leap Motor, Stellantis and Leap Motor also established a joint venture called "Leap International," in which Stellantis holds a 51% controlling stake. This joint venture gives Stellantis exclusive rights to export, sell, and produce Leap electric vehicles outside of the Greater China region.
