Tesla has started offering three months of free Supercharger service in the United States with the aim of clearing out inventory of the Model 3 before the end of the quarter.

According to the Tesla website, the latest promotional measures for the Tesla Model 3 are applicable to customers who take delivery before June 30th. Despite all variants of the Model 3 being eligible for the full $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit in the United States earlier this month, Tesla is still providing new free Supercharging benefits in hopes of accelerating inventory clearance.
On June 16th, Tesla China also announced a limited-time incentive subsidy for the domestically produced Model 3. From June 16th (inclusive) to the 30th (inclusive), customers who purchase the rear-wheel-drive version of the Model 3 in stock and complete delivery will enjoy an ¥8,000 insurance subsidy and preferential interest rate loan scheme. Furthermore, this limited-time incentive by Tesla emphasizes "in-stock" vehicles, which means consumers do not have to wait for delivery.
Some observers believe that the limited-time subsidy for the domestically produced Model 3 in China may indicate inventory clearance in preparation for the arrival of an updated Model 3.
It is worth noting that Tesla is offering promotional measures in both China and the United States simultaneously, which are seen as efforts to clear out Model 3 inventory. Does this imply that the updated Model 3 will also be launched in the U.S. market?
In addition to using their free Supercharger service to help sell inventory of the Model 3, Tesla is also utilizing three years of free Supercharger service to attract customers to purchase the Model S and Model X before the end of the quarter.
