The Dongfeng Honda New Energy Plant, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, covers an area of approximately 630,000 square meters. It is Honda's first new energy factory worldwide, designed to create a new generation of electric vehicle manufacturing that is "smart, green, and efficient." The plant incorporates advanced technologies such as automation and digitization, featuring a three-dimensional smart ecological space, a dual-spiral carbon-neutral circulation system, and integrated SMART order-based production and sales innovations, achieving an annual production capacity of 120,000 new energy passenger vehicles.

The initial models produced at the factory will include the recently launched Lingxi L and the upcoming Ye S7, among several other electric vehicles.

Currently, Honda's situation in China is not favorable. According to Honda China's announced sales figures for September, the company's terminal sales in China totaled 62,586 vehicles, marking a year-on-year decline of 42.93%. This represents the third consecutive month that Honda's sales in China have dropped by over 40% compared to the previous year.

In response, Honda has begun accelerating its transition to new energy, planning to offer a lineup of ten pure electric models by 2027, which will include the e

series launched in 2022 and the new electric brand "Ye" series set to debut in 2024. By 2035, Honda aims for pure electric vehicle sales to comprise 100% of its sales.
