Foxconn Unveils Two New Electric Vehicle Models

On October 8, Foxconn Technology Group announced the launch of two new electric vehicle models, further enriching its rapidly growing automotive product lineup. Foxconn also stated that the North American version of the MODEL C SUV, designed for its U.S. partners, is set to begin mass production by the end of 2025.

One of the vehicles showcased at Foxconn's recent "HHTD24" event is the MODEL D, an ultra-large multifunctional SUV measuring 5.1 meters in length with a 3.2-meter wheelbase. The MODEL D features a pneumatic suspension system that enhances driving stability, with adjustable ride height between 15 and 25 millimeters. Its body design incorporates S-shaped air intakes and air curtains specifically aimed at reducing drag, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.23Cd.

The other model unveiled at the tech day is the MODEL U, a medium-sized electric bus designed for narrow urban alleys and remote areas. This model is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous driving features, boasting a maximum range of 275 kilometers when fully loaded with 20 passengers.

MODEL U also offers a customizable luxury flagship version, featuring an elegant interior and equipped with a VIP area, mini bar, and coffee machine, making it suitable for various scenarios such as VIP shuttles and mobile offices.

Li Bingyan, General Manager of Foxtron, stated, "Foxtron provides customizable reference vehicles for partners, allowing clients to choose their preferred design for customization. This CDMS business model (Contract Design and Manufacturing Services) has already seen successful cases."

Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei announced that the company will launch more new electric vehicles this year to expand its EV product lineup. To date, Foxconn has introduced the MODEL E sedan, MODEL T electric bus, MODEL B sedan, MODEL V pickup, and MODEL N electric truck.

Liu emphasized that these vehicles demonstrate Foxconn's breadth and maturity in the automotive sector, and the electric vehicles developed in collaboration with B2B clients can withstand tests of durability, safety, and reliability.

As a leading global electronics manufacturer, Foxconn noted that it has years of manufacturing experience. "In the future, these technologies and experiences will be applied to the electric vehicle industry and the new energy sector, and Foxconn will work with industry leaders to expand the localization and vertical integration scale of the clean energy supply chain."
