On June 6th, the 2023 Geely Direct Champion Edition was officially launched, featuring four different trim levels. This new model can be considered as an upgraded version of the 2022 model, with optimizations and adjustments mainly focused on functional configurations and the powertrain system, while the exterior design remains largely unchanged.
The new car adopts Geely's latest design language, with the front grille featuring the "Energy String" design and multiple chrome-plated bars that create a concave effect, adding a sense of depth. The sleek and elongated headlights, accompanied by the all-black brand logo, enhance the sporty appearance. The headlights also incorporate a three-segment daytime running light, providing a striking and dynamic effect when illuminated.
The vehicle's side profile showcases the "Skyline Pervasive Sharpness" waistline, connecting the entire body and visually elongating the side profile. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4638/1820/1460mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2650mm. It is positioned as a standard compact sedan.
At the rear, the car features a popular full-width taillight design, with the left and right taillights adopting a rotating staircase-shaped design, creating a deep and captivating effect when lit up, while also elongating the visual appeal of the rear.
The interior design of the new car largely inherits the styling of the current model, adhering to the "technological simplicity" design philosophy. The center console incorporates more straight lines, enhancing the sense of layering and horizontal extension. The materials and craftsmanship are more refined, creating a comfortable and luxurious cabin atmosphere.
In terms of features, the new car comes standard with leather seats, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, 4/6 folding rear seats, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, four power windows, intelligent scenario-based air conditioning interactive system, healthy cabin fresh air system, rear air conditioning vents, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch floating central control screen.
Under the hood, the new car is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, with the model designation BHE15-AFD. The maximum power has been increased from 84kW to 93kW, and the peak torque from 147Nm to 152Nm. Depending on the model, it offers a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a simulated 8-speed CVT transmission, with WLTC-rated combined fuel consumption of 5.62L/100km and 5.82L/100km respectively.
In terms of intelligence, the central control screen has been upgraded to a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, replacing the previous 10.25-inch screen. It is equipped with the latest Galaxy OS vehicle system, which includes an interconnected system, voice control system, Gaode navigation map, and entertainment system.
