Recently, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in compliance with the "Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and its implementation guidelines. The recall will commence on September 29, 2024, targeting the following vehicles:

GAC Toyota will recall 72,828 units of the Frontlander Hybrid, manufactured between July 19, 2023, and September 7, 2024.
FAW Toyota will recall 59,296 units of the Corolla Cross Hybrid, produced between July 3, 2023, and September 9, 2024.
The recall pertains to vehicles affected by an incomplete control program within the brake actuator control unit. This issue may prevent the brake actuator from correctly adjusting brake fluid pressure during cornering maneuvers. In extreme cases, this malfunction could result in a brief inability to provide braking force according to the driver's input, extending braking distances beyond the driver's expectations and thereby increasing the risk of collisions, posing a safety hazard.
Both GAC Toyota and FAW Toyota will provide free upgrades to the internal software of the brake actuator control unit for all affected vehicles to eliminate the safety risks.
