Further Collaboration: Farasis Energy And JMC Sign Solid-State Battery Agreement

On September 29, Farasis Energy and JMC New Energy officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on solid-state batteries.

During the signing ceremony, Farasis Energy's first Super Pouch Solution (SPS) battery system, tailored for the "Yi" vehicle model, was unveiled. Under the agreement, both parties will share resources and complement each other's strengths, aiming to jointly promote the research, production, and market application of solid-state batteries.

Farasis Energy and JMC New Energy have nearly a decade of collaboration, having developed and launched various models such as the E100, E200, EV3, and GSE.

In September 2022, Farasis Energy introduced the SPS, a large pouch battery solution. This new energy solution was designed for the Terawatt-hour (TWh) era and integrates four innovative technologies: large pouch battery cells, large pouch battery systems, large pouch battery manufacturing, and direct recycling. The system offers a comprehensive solution that covers everything from material design to process technology and recycling. The SPS supports a fast charge of 10 minutes for a 400km range.

The SPS product design is compatible with various material systems, including ternary, sodium-ion, LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate), and LMFP (Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate) batteries. Compared to traditional technologies, the system's volumetric efficiency is expected to increase by over 30%, with more than a 30% reduction in structural components, significantly lowering costs.

Currently, the SPS technology has been applied to multiple passenger vehicle projects, with samples already sent to downstream automakers. Besides JMC, Farasis Energy has secured supply agreements with companies like Geely and Dongfeng, promising improvements in product performance and safety, while optimizing production costs.

Additionally, thanks to increased supply to key customers like Mercedes-Benz and GAC Group, as well as new bulk orders from clients like SIRO, Farasis Energy is steadily expanding. According to data from EV-volumes, a third-party organization tracking the global electric vehicle market, Farasis Energy's global installed capacity in the first half of this year reached 4.8 GWh, ranking eighth in the industry.
