Recently, FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the "Regulation on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recalls" and its implementation measures. The decision is to recall some bZ3 electric vehicles produced between March 13, 2023, and November 9, 2023, totaling 25,815 vehicles.

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall have an imperfect power battery management controller program. In cases where the vehicle has not been fully charged for several consecutive times and continues to drive at high speeds, there is a significant deviation in the estimated remaining battery power, causing the instrument panel to display a higher power battery remaining power than the actual remaining power. In extreme cases, the vehicle may lose power before the charging warning light comes on, posing a safety hazard.
FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will use Over-the-Air (OTA) technology to remotely upgrade the battery management controller's control program for the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.
