Recently, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area held a ceremony for the concentrated commencement and completion of projects in the fourth quarter of 2023. The event was attended by Luo Lin, a member of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area, Xu Hongqiu, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, and leaders of relevant units. Many of the projects started or completed in this event are closely related to the development of intelligent connected new energy vehicles. Among them, the TaiLan New Energy Phase II Factory Project in Chongqing will be a significant addition to the development of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry in the new area.

The event was held at the construction site of the TaiLan New Energy Phase II project. Dr. Gao Xiang, Chairman and CTO of TaiLan New Energy, spoke at the event as a representative of the company. He provided an overview of the TaiLan Phase II project and the operational status of the Phase I factory.
The TaiLan New Energy Phase II project in Chongqing is planned to have a production capacity of 2 GWh, focusing on the production of passenger vehicle power batteries while also catering to small power and energy storage applications. After reaching full production, the expected annual output value is over 20 billion yuan.
TaiLan New Energy, with the mission of "promoter of solid-state batteries," is simultaneously engaged in the research and development of "key technologies for solid-state electrolytes" and "commercial viability." Looking globally, the energy field is highly competitive, and the industry is undergoing a major transformation from old to new kinetic energy. This creates a fertile ground for the development of TaiLan New Energy.
Choosing Chongqing as a development hub and with the long-term support of the Liangjiang New Area Management Committee and relevant units, in 2022, TaiLan New Energy completed and put into operation its first solid-state battery factory, becoming the industry's first enterprise to achieve mass production of semi-solid-state batteries. Currently, the production and operation of the Phase I factory are stable and orderly, and the decision to establish the Phase II factory in Liangjiang New Area is a strategic move to synergize with the automotive industry chain and accelerate the entry into outstanding independent new energy technology enterprises, marking a new journey of high-quality development.
Dr. Gao Xiang stated, "The sentiment of 'industrial patriotism, building an industrial powerhouse' is the driving force propelling TaiLan forward. TaiLan New Energy will gather additional momentum, using the 'core of solid-state' to shape new momentum for the lithium battery industry and contribute to the collaborative development of Chongqing's 'intelligent connected new energy vehicle' industry chain!"
Seizing the opportunity of this event, TaiLan is deepening its capacity planning and bringing its plans to fruition. The company is further clarifying its development strategy, cultivating core research and development capabilities, and optimizing and strengthening TaiLan New Energy's solid-state lithium battery products. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in accelerating the industrial layout.
