During the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz officially announced the commencement of the construction of their first batch of supercharging stations in China, with a charging power of up to 480kW. The world's first Mercedes-Benz supercharging station is set to be located in Chengdu and will be operational by October this year.
In addition to Chengdu, other locations, including major new energy vehicle markets like Beijing and Shenzhen, will see the introduction of these stations throughout the year. These initial Mercedes-Benz supercharging stations will be situated adjacent to authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
Officials stated that the supercharging station boasts a charging power of up to 480kW. Taking a station equipped with 4 charging pillars as an example, the total power per station can reach up to 600kW. The station is also furnished with intelligent power dispatch technology. Depending on the charging needs of the vehicles, dynamic power distribution between the charging pillars can be achieved, reducing waiting times for vehicle owners.
Furthermore, the charging station will be open to vehicles from other brands. However, Mercedes-Benz customers can enjoy exclusive benefits including charging pillar reservations and plug-and-charge capabilities.
