At the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show, the AION Hyper SSR was officially unveiled. The car is positioned as a supercar, and the company announced that it would officially launch and deliver on October 9th, with a pre-sale price range of 1.286 to 1.686 million yuan.
The design of the Hyper SSR is filled with supercar elements. The name SSR stands for Super, Sport, and Race, each letter associated with performance. Although it's an electric car, its front face design leans more towards a traditional sports car. Essential elements include a large air intake in the front bumper for aerodynamics, aerodynamic side mirrors, and a front hood with vents - all of which look highly impactful.
Moving to the side, automatic butterfly doors are undoubtedly the coolest feature of this car. The wheel arches also have a supercar-style air channel. The tire sizes are 245/35 ZR21 for the front and 305/30 ZR21 for the rear. The dimensions are 4583mm in length, 1988mm in width, and 1238mm in height.
For a supercar, it features a rear diffuser and an adjustable rear spoiler, and wing-shaped taillights. The trunk appears to have decent space, which is fairly practical for a supercar.
Like most supercars, the interior of the Hyper SSR is clean and straightforward. Still, the overall structure is quite dimensional, giving a mechanical feel. The hexagonal racing-style steering wheel is unique, and the seat design is cool. The car will come with an embedded 14.6-inch multimedia display and an 8.8-inch dashboard. The area below features dual-tower-style air vents and an electronic shift mechanism.
In terms of power, the AION Hyper SSR will use a pure electric drive, with a maximum power of 1225 horsepower and a maximum torque of 12,000 Nm, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 1.9 seconds. The Hyper SSR uses a 900V silicon carbide chip, not only increasing the working frequency by 2.5 times but also reducing power consumption by 80%. Another highlight in performance is the AI track technology, featuring functionalities like track traction and a digital coach, essentially teaching you how to drive this car faster on the track. The Hyper SSR has a torsional stiffness of 50,000 Nm/degree.
