The 2025 Tesla Model Y draws design inspiration from the Cybertruck and the Cyberquad, featuring a more rugged overall appearance with smoother body lines. A notable change is at the front, where a new full-width light strip enhances the technological feel and visual width. Additionally, the front bumper incorporates air intakes on both sides, giving it a more aggressive look.
The side profile retains its fastback design and hidden door handles while introducing newly designed side mirrors and wheels, available in 19-inch and 20-inch options. Significant changes are also seen at the rear, with a new full-width taillight design. Tesla claims it features the world's first diffuse reflection taillight, which significantly enhances recognition. In terms of dimensions, the 2025 Tesla Model Y measures 4,797 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,624 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.
The 2025 Tesla Model Y features a more stylish and modern exterior design, incorporating the trendy full-width light strip that better aligns with the aesthetic preferences of younger consumers. Additionally, the vehicle's dimensions have been slightly increased, and with the extended rear seats and optimized chassis tuning, overall passenger comfort has been improved.
Inside, the 2025 Tesla Model Y is equipped with a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, powered by an AMD Ryzen processor and Tesla's self-developed vehicle system. Moreover, the new model retains the traditional three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and, like the latest Model 3, replaces the gear shift lever with on-screen controls.
Inside, the 2025 Tesla Model Y eliminates the traditional gear shift lever, replacing it with a screen-based shifting system while retaining the turn signal stalk. The central touchscreen remains 15.4 inches, powered by an AMD Ryzen processor, and supports 4G connectivity, voice recognition, mobile app remote control, and OTA updates. In terms of intelligent driving, the autonomous driving hardware has been upgraded to AI4, featuring two HW 4.0 driving chips and eight high-definition cameras. It supports lane change assist and lane-centering functions.
Regarding features, the 2025 Tesla Model Y adds a full-length ambient lighting strip (256 colors) spanning the doors and center console. The front seats now come with ventilation, and a new silver-coated panoramic glass roof improves heat insulation and noise reduction. A far-side airbag has been added to enhance safety. The rear seats have been extended by 15 mm, and an 8-inch rear screen has been introduced, allowing passengers to control seat heating, adjust air conditioning airflow, and play music and videos.
In terms of performance, the 2025 Tesla Model Y is available in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive version delivers a maximum power output of 220 kW and peak torque of 440 Nm, with an official 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. It is equipped with a 62.5 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 593 km and supporting a maximum charging power of 170 kW. The Long Range AWD version features an asynchronous induction motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear, producing a combined power of 331 kW and torque of 559 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, with a 78.4 kWh battery pack providing a CLTC range of 719 km and supporting a maximum charging power of 250 kW.
