FAW HongQi
On May 21st, the new Hongqi HS5 was officially launched, offering a total of 5 models. The new Hongqi HS5 is a mid-size SUV that has undergone comprehensive optimizations in both exterior and interior, while also experiencing significant improvements in its powertrain parameters.
In terms of exterior design, the front face of the new Hongqi HS5 has been enhanced to resemble the H9 model. The front grille now features a larger size with a three-dimensional effect and showcases the iconic Hongqi light strip logo. The new headlights have a more profound appearance, with the upper part incorporating a 7-inch daytime running light. The car also adopts split-type headlights, with a more pronounced styling for the side lamp clusters.
The side profile of the vehicle has been refined, with optimizations made to the design details. For instance, the decorative style on the front fenders featuring the Hongqi emblem has been altered, and the chrome decoration below the doors has been enhanced. The car now sports new-style large-sized alloy wheels, among other improvements.
At the rear, the tail lights have been redesigned, featuring a chrome strip that spans across the left and right lights, giving them a more stylish look. The rear bumper of the vehicle has also undergone refinements, with larger dual exhausts and additional chrome trimmings for embellishment.
Regarding the interior, the entire center console has been redesigned, giving the cabin a more streamlined appearance. The area of the decorative panels has been increased, and the light-colored woodgrain trim exudes a sense of elegance. The dual-screen design has been retained, while the air conditioning controls have been transformed into button and knob styles. The lower part of the console has added a wireless charging area, and the surrounding area of the gear lever has also been optimized. The seat design remains unchanged, largely continuing the design of the current model.
In terms of power, the new Hongqi HS5 continues to be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine. However, there have been enhancements in its performance, with a maximum power output of 185 kW, an increase of 20 kW compared to the current model, and a maximum torque of 380 N·m, an increase of 40 N·m. Additionally, it has been upgraded to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Hongqi HS5 has always been a key sales model for Hongqi. With this latest refresh, it shares a unified design style with the H9 and further enhances its product strength. It is expected to drive a new growth in Hongqi's sales volume.
