The 119-Year-Old Geneva Motor Show May Become History

Recently, the organizers of the Geneva Motor Show announced on overseas social media that the show originally scheduled to open on February 17, 2025, has been officially canceled due to "continuous industry competition pressures" and will no longer be held. However, the Qatar Motor Show scheduled to open in November 2025 will proceed as planned.

The Geneva Motor Show has a history of 119 years and has witnessed the debut of many legendary models, including the Jaguar E-Type, Porsche 917, Audi Quattro, and Bugatti Chiron. Due to the pandemic, it was absent for four years from 2020 to 2023. When it returned in 2024, major brands like BBA did not participate, leaving Chinese brands such as BYD to hold the fort.

The Geneva Motor Show might not be the only one affected. The Detroit Auto Show had previously planned to shift its event to summer but announced earlier this year that the 2025 Detroit Auto Show would return to its January schedule, coinciding with the CES electronics show.
