Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the "Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and its implementing measures.
Models Affected: XV, Ascent, Forester

Recall Batches:
As of now, a total of 24 vehicles produced between September 6, 2023, and September 8, 2023, are being recalled, including certain imported XV, Ascent, and Forester series vehicles.
Reason for Recall:
The vehicles within the scope of this recall may experience surface cracking and reduced material strength on the outer seat ring of the front drive shaft universal joint due to improper heat treatment. This could lead to issues such as damage to the universal joint outer seat ring, poor power transmission, and decreased driving force, increasing the risk of collisions and posing a safety hazard.
Recall Measures:
Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. will conduct a free inspection of the front drive shaft on both sides for the recalled vehicles. Defective components will be replaced to eliminate the safety risks.
Model Affected: Ascent

Recall Batches:
Starting from January 11, 2024, a total of 2,472 vehicles produced between February 10, 2021, and June 30, 2021, are being recalled, including certain imported Ascent series vehicles.
Reason for Recall:
Vehicles within this recall range may experience insufficient sealing of the gear inhibitor switch, allowing moisture to enter the switch and causing poor contact. This could result in engine startup issues, engine warning lights, failure of the reverse lights, and the reverse camera not displaying after vehicle startup, increasing the risk of collisions and posing a safety hazard.
Recall Measures:
Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the gear inhibitor switch for the recalled vehicles at no cost, eliminating the safety risks.
