On April 25th, Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., jointly signed a memorandum of understanding, initiating a feasibility study for strategic cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent vehicles.
The cooperation in this feasibility study includes:
Leveraging Baidu's strengths in generative AI, in collaboration with Nissan's intelligent platform, to jointly develop and research future technological developments and the feasibility of commercial cooperation in related fields.
Incorporating Baidu's AI solutions into Nissan vehicles in China to explore the potential of AI solutions and actively promote research and cooperation, jointly exploring the application and development of innovative technologies in the future automotive sector, and leveraging each other's strengths and expertise for mutual benefit.
"The automotive industry is undergoing a transformation towards intelligence, and consumer demand for new technologies represented by AI is continuously growing. In Nissan's 'The Arc Nissan Arc Program' announced in March, we clearly stated our intention to expand strategic partnerships into the areas of technology, product combinations, and software services. Through cooperation with Baidu, Baidu's generative AI capabilities will be applied to Nissan vehicles in China, further accelerating Nissan's intelligence and electrification efforts, providing consumers with a more diverse intelligent mobility experience," said Masafumi Matsuyama, Vice President of Strategy and Special Missions at Nissan China and General Manager of Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd.
According to Nissan's plans, by the fiscal year 2026, Nissan will launch 8 new energy vehicle models in the Chinese market, providing more room for imagination in cooperation with Baidu.
