Recently, spy shots of the new SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 model have been leaked online. The overall design of the new car continues the style of the current model and offers multiple color options. Additionally, the new car's Volkswagen logo can light up, exuding a refined touch. Reports from the media indicate that Jia Jianxu, the General Manager of SAIC Volkswagen, has stated that the ID.3 will switch to iron phosphate batteries in the first quarter of next year, reducing costs by 19,000 yuan.
From the exterior, the new car retains the design of the current model and introduces a new blue paint job, further adding to its trendy and vibrant appeal. The current model offers five colors: Aurora Green, Cyber Yellow, Superconductor Red, Crystal White, and Ion Grey. Notably, the new Volkswagen logo on this vehicle can illuminate and is connected to the IQ. Light matrix headlights on both sides via an LED strip, enhancing its technological ambiance.
The side and rear designs of the vehicle are largely consistent with the current model and feature the same 20-inch two-tone petal-style wheels as the new overseas version.
Regarding the powertrain, the currently available model has a pure electric range of 450km under the CLTC condition, a maximum motor power of 125 kW, and a peak torque of 310 N·m, utilizing CATL's ternary lithium batteries.
