1

Recall Batch:

Recall of a total of 5,297 units of the fourth-generation Kia K5 vehicles produced between June 22, 2021, and December 30, 2022.

Reason for Recall:

The vehicles within the scope of this recall may pose a risk of passenger (especially children) entrapment due to the lack of warning during the opening and closing process of the power sliding doors, thus presenting a safety hazard.

2

Solution:

Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors Co., Ltd. will provide a free software program upgrade for the recalled vehicles. This upgrade will reduce the closing speed of the power sliding doors and add a door switch warning sound to eliminate the safety hazard.
