According to media reports, Germany's new passenger car registrations in March fell by 6.2% year-on-year to 217,388 units. However, for the first quarter of this year, the country's new car registrations still grew by 4.2% year-on-year to 694,785 units.

Meanwhile, due to the expiration of tax incentives for pure electric vehicles at the end of 2023, Germany's electric car sales have faced challenges. Over the past 7 months, only one month saw a year-on-year growth in electric car sales in Germany.
In March, electric car registrations in Germany were 47,400 units, down 22% year-on-year, with a market share of 18%, compared to 21.6% in the same period last year. Among them, pure electric car (BEV) registrations were 31,384 units, down 29% year-on-year, with a market share shrinking from 15.7% in the same period last year to 11.9%; plug-in hybrid electric car (PHEV) registrations were 16,016 units, down 5% year-on-year.

Among them, BEV cumulative sales were 81,337 units, down 14% year-on-year, with a market share of 11.7%; PHEV cumulative sales were 44,985 units, up 20% year-on-year, with a market share of 6.5%.
