According to media reports, Ford Motor Company has stated that it is considering producing a new SUV at its Valencia factory in Spain.
Ford said, "We are closely monitoring changes in the European market and looking for opportunities to strengthen our existing product line. Given the industry changes we are seeing, we believe there is an opportunity to add a new electrified version of an SUV in Europe and produce it in Valencia."

Ford has not made a final decision yet, and the company has not specified which model it hopes to produce in Spain. Spanish media reports suggest that Ford's plan is to produce a new hybrid model locally.
The Ford Valencia factory employs 4,800 workers and was previously responsible for producing the Mondeo mid-size sedan, as well as the S-Max and Galaxy minivans. After the discontinuation of these models, the factory is now producing the Kuga SUV.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated on social media, "This is good news for the workers of Valencia and Ford Spain. The company's decision to produce new electric vehicles ensures the survival of the Almussafes factory in the coming years."
The Spanish General Workers' Union (UGT) told the media on March 28, "The Almussafes factory will produce a new vehicle and maintain sufficient production levels." Ford had previously announced plans to use a new platform developed in the United States to produce the next generation of electric vehicles in Valencia.
