Mazda's Ambitious Electrification Plans in China

In October 2023, Mazda announced an investment of 200 billion yen (approximately 9.73 billion RMB) to accelerate its new energy vehicle (NEV) development in China. This investment will be used for research, production, and sales.

During the Mazda EZ-6 pre-sale launch, Deng Zhitao, Executive Vice President of Changan Mazda, revealed that the company plans to introduce at least one new energy vehicle per year in China. Mazda aims to expand its presence in both sedan and SUV segments, with a goal of 90% of its sales coming from NEVs by 2027 and achieving an annual production and sales volume of 300,000 units.
