The new SUV EXEED YaoGuang, under Chery's high-end brand EXEED, has officially been launched with six different models. Built on the EXEED M3X Mars architecture 2.0, the new vehicle is equipped with the Xiongshi system and Snapdragon 8155 chip, positioning itself as a mid-size SUV. Both the interior and exterior designs adopt the latest design language of the EXEED brand. After its release, YaoGuang will also become the flagship model of the EXEED brand.
EXEED YaoGuang is based on the previously unveiled EXEED AtlantiX concept car, with production-oriented adjustments made to the details. In the front section, the upper part features a narrow blackened trim panel that connects to the headlights on both sides, while the lower part consists of a mesh grille with a three-dimensional effect formed by progressively increasing diamond shapes. The integrated daytime running lights and headlight units outline a Greek symbol-like "∑," giving it a strong sense of recognition and fashion. These light sources also create a unique welcoming light effect when the vehicle is unlocked, enhancing the ceremonial experience.
YaoGuang features a coupe-like SUV silhouette, with a noticeable downward slope of the roofline starting from the C-pillar. The two-tone body and hidden door handles incorporate popular design elements, along with the rich waistline design and distinctive low-drag dual-color wheels with red calipers, greatly enhancing the vehicle's sense of fashion and sportiness. The dimensions of the vehicle are 4781mm in length, 1920mm in width, 1671mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2815mm.
The rear of the vehicle also showcases fashionable design elements. The continuous taillights have a strong recognition effect when illuminated, and a unique breathing light is added to the black panel in the middle, creating differentiation from other continuous taillights. The integrated rear wing, high-mounted brake light, vertically grooved rear bumper with embedded rear fog lights, silver skid plate, and quad exhaust layout on both sides significantly enhance the sporty feel of YaoGuang.
The interior of EXEED YaoGuang exhibits a strong sporty style. The new vehicle features a dual-screen design connecting the full LCD instrument panel with the central multimedia display, measuring 24.6 inches in size. The through-type air vents and touch-enabled dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel contribute to a high-tech atmosphere. Worth mentioning is the NAPPA top-layer leather stitching and perforated design applied to the seats, providing a delicate texture and comfortable seating experience.
As the flagship model of the brand, YaoGuang offers a high level of equipment. The new vehicle is equipped with leather seats, heated/ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, 50W wireless charging for mobile phones, NFC key, panoramic imaging, full-speed range ACC/AEB, power tailgate, headrest speakers, and power-adjustable front seats. The high-end models feature an electric footrest and five modes of backrest aerodynamic massage for the front passenger seat, while the driver's seat comes with a 50-inch AR-HUD imaging system.
In terms of power, EXEED YaoGuang initially comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power of 192kW and a peak torque of 400Nm. It is coupled with a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission and offers an optional four-wheel drive system. Additionally, it provides seven driving modes: Economy, Standard, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Off-road. In the future, a PHEV plug-in hybrid version will also be introduced.
The chassis of YaoGuang is another highlight, featuring the new Feiyu Super Sense Chassis with advanced functions such as CDC electromagnetic suspension system, Soft Stop system, chassis hydraulic isolation system, all-terrain technology system, intelligent control four-wheel drive system, and intelligent line control braking system. It is rare to find such a configuration in the same class, which is highly anticipated.
As the first model applying the "Xiongshi Ecological 2023" concept, EXEED YaoGuang excels in architecture, hardware, audio-visual, and intelligent driving. The EEA4.0 electronic-electrical architecture, centered around gigabit Ethernet, Autosar software and hardware separation, and full-vehicle OTA functionality, enables faster transmission and intelligent iteration.
YaoGuang is equipped with a curved dual-screen measuring 24.6 inches, coupled with an AR-HUD system, making it easier for the driver to obtain information. In terms of hardware, the new vehicle is equipped with Snapdragon 8155 and Horizon J13 chips that meet automotive standards, with voice interaction capabilities provided by iFlytek. It is worth mentioning that YaoGuang's infotainment system achieves a startup speed of around 3 seconds, starting from the opening of the car door, completing Face ID authentication in 5 seconds, and even providing personalized welcome messages for different car owners.
In terms of intelligent ecology, EXEED YaoGuang integrates mainstream third-party software such as WeChat, Meituan, Amap navigation, iQiyi, Bilibili, Tencent Video, Douyin, Ximalaya, and Maoyan Movies, catering to the current demands of young consumers.
