According to foreign media reports, electric truck manufacturer Nikola announced on March 4th that former General Motors and Amazon executive Thomas Okray has been appointed as its Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to appointing Okray as CFO, former General Motors executive Stephen Girsky was appointed as Nikola's CEO in August last year, followed by Mary Chan being appointed as Chief Operating Officer in September last year.
Okray will immediately assume his role at Nikola, stating in a statement, "I have decades-long relationships with some of Nikola's executives, which makes this decision feel even more natural."
Okray worked at General Motors for 14 years, leaving the company in June 2015. Over these 14 years, he progressed from a senior analyst to a department's CFO, responsible for managing projects such as developing future models, optimizing profitability, and material procurement. During his tenure at Amazon, Okray served as Vice President of Finance for the global customer fulfillment division.
Several months ago, Nikola's former CFO, Anastasiya Pasterick, announced her resignation from the electric truck manufacturer to pursue other opportunities.
In February this year, Nikola expects to deliver up to 350 hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and announced a narrowing of its loss for the fourth quarter of 2023.
