The latest sales figures show Chery Group sold 182,049 vehicles in April, up 43.7 percent from a year earlier. Among them, 89,377 were exported, an increase of 18.3%, and 32,995 were sold in new energy, an increase of 165.2%. From January to April, Chery Group sold a total of 711,653 vehicles, an increase of 55.7% year-on-year.
Chery Group said its overall growth rate far exceeded the industry level. In the first quarter, Chery Group ranked first in the industry with a growth rate of 60.3%, and in April, the passenger car Federation is expected to decline 1.5% year-on-year in narrow passenger car retail sales, and Chery Group continues to defy the trend with a positive growth of 43.7%.
By brand, Chery brand sold 117,726 units in April, and 482,947 units from January to April, an increase of 57.5%. The Star Road brand sold 8,235 units in April, and 31,728 units in January-April, an increase of 28%. Jieway brand sold 37,248 units in April, and 144,724 units in January-April, an increase of 104%. iCAR 03, the first product of the iCAR brand, sold 7,524 units in the month, bringing the cumulative sales to 13,011 units.
With the acceleration of new energy, Chery Group's series of high-performance new energy products are intensive: in the Beijing International Auto Show and brand launch activities in April, Chery Fengyun T9 and Star Road Star Era ET opened pre-sale; Jietu Shanhai T2 officially launched; iCAR V23, X25 and iCAR 03T, Fengyun production concept car E06, Star Road E08 concept car have completed the world debut or debut.
