According to reports from Chinese media, BYD's self-developed intelligent driving (ID) department is currently recruiting employees from across the company, with a unique policy allowing them to transfer directly if they pass the interview, without needing approval from their original department. Insiders say this is the first time the group has shown such strong policy support. Additionally, BYD is reportedly preparing to equip all of its models with standard intelligent driving features, aiming to extend basic ID functions to entry-level models in the future. When asked for comments, BYD representatives stated, "No relevant information is available for disclosure."

It's been revealed that BYD's most dynamic department this year has been its intelligence division. At the beginning of the year, the company integrated the intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit teams to form the Intelligent Research Institute. Midyear, it established the "Tianshu" and "Tianlang" development departments to drive the progress of in-house ID solutions. Currently, these two departments have merged, and BYD is actively recruiting employees from other departments and pushing to equip its entire model lineup with intelligent driving technology. This shift represents BYD's intensive, company-wide effort to advance its smart technology breakthroughs.
In an internal meeting in September, BYD expressed its goal of bringing advanced intelligent driving (highway NOA level) to models priced around 100,000 RMB by next year. Since the mass production of the "Eye of the God" intelligent driving system on Denza and Yangwang models, BYD's intelligent driving domain controllers have been self-developed and self-manufactured. BYD is also working with major computing platforms such as NVIDIA, Horizon Robotics, and Black Sesame Technologies for ID development. Of these, NVIDIA's platform is the most mature, and BYD's internal team is currently investing the most effort in the Drive Orin platform. Reportedly, BYD's self-developed algorithms based on Orin N could go into production as early as November, marking the first major breakthrough in BYD's in-house ID production efforts. So far, models such as the Yangwang U8, Denza N7, Han EV, Song L EV, Seagull 07 EV, and Seal have been launched with versions featuring the Eye of the God advanced ID system. Upcoming models like the Denza N9 and Tang L are expected to follow soon. In other words, most of BYD's mainstream models above 200,000 RMB this year are available with advanced intelligent driving versions.
