On September 5, Audi announced the largest product lineup in the brand's history, specifically designed for the Chinese market.
The Audi Q6L e-tron series will spearhead this new product strategy. Over the next two years, Audi will partner with FAW Group and SAIC Motor to introduce new all-electric and fuel-powered models.

Starting in mid-2025, Audi will launch an all-electric model built on the PPE platform, designed exclusively for the Chinese market, with the first model being the Audi Q6L e-tron.
Additionally, new-generation local models based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) luxury fuel vehicle platform will also debut, including the new Audi A5 family. The A5 series will be jointly produced by FAW Group and SAIC Motor, offering various body styles to meet the diverse needs of high-end customers.
Notably, as the product lineup expands, Audi AG will revise its global vehicle naming convention starting in 2024. Numbers in the model names will serve to distinguish between electric and fuel-powered vehicles. Even numbers will represent electric models, such as the Audi Q6 e-tron, while odd numbers will represent fuel-powered models, such as the Audi A5. The Audi Q6 e-tron will be the first model to adopt this new naming rule.
The Audi A6L, one of the most successful models in the Chinese luxury car market, will retain its current name as a recognition of its success and the importance of high-end Chinese customers, even as the new global naming system is implemented.
