At the 2023 Munich Auto Show, the Renault Rafale made its official debut. The new vehicle boasts a sporty SUV silhouette, reminiscent of the Peugeot 408X. Under the hood, the car will feature a hybrid system combining a 1.2T three-cylinder engine with an electric motor, delivering a total of 200 horsepower.

Observing the new Renault Rafale, its front face reflects Renault's latest design language. Sharp lines are prevalent across the front, complemented by newly designed matrix LED headlights, giving the vehicle a robust look while emphasizing its technological edge. The lower surround showcases a layered design, and the boomerang shapes on either side further accentuate its sporty vibe.

The side profile of the vehicle features a sleek, fastback design, radiating a ready-to-pounce athleticism. The Renault Rafale rides on large seven-spoke sporty wheels with irregular polygon designs on the spokes, adding a touch of sci-fi flair. The rear features intricate lines, creating a well-contoured appearance. The taillights resemble a pistol grip, with an internal design reminiscent of a comb, further highlighting its high-tech aesthetics.

Inside, the Renault Rafale embraces the contemporary trend with a full digital dashboard and a large central screen. The in-car system runs on Android Automotive 12 and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionalities. The French touch brings a sci-fi twist to the otherwise conventional large screen setup. This futuristic vibe is not just because of the screen, but also due to the irregular geometric lines, as seen in the intricately designed gear shifter.

In terms of performance, the Renault Rafale is powered by a hybrid system that combines a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers 130 horsepower, while the main electric motor offers 70 horsepower. There's also an auxiliary electric motor producing 34 horsepower, leading to a combined output of 200 horsepower. Renault has hinted that in the future, the Rafale will feature a newly developed plug-in hybrid system, pushing the maximum power to 300 horsepower, paired with an all-wheel-drive system and rear-wheel steering functionality.
