What kinds of materials for Clutch plate disc or clutch kits?

Basic Information of Clutch kits

The main clutch friction materials include copper-based materials (high hardness and good heat dissipation), ceramic-based materials (high wear resistance and high torque capacity), and organic composite materials (such as aramid fiber, offering balanced performance). The choice of material mainly depends on the vehicle's application and performance requirements. Copper-based materials are commonly used in heavy-duty vehicles, ceramic materials are used in high-performance vehicles, and composite materials are typically used in passenger cars. The material can be identified by its characteristics (copper-based materials are relatively hard, while ceramic materials are more brittle but highly durable) as well as the manufacturer's specifications.

What are the main materials and functions of OEM replacement truck clutch?

Main clutch friction materials:

Copper-based: Made of copper alloys combined with other metals. These materials feature high hardness, excellent heat dissipation, and strong load-bearing capacity. They are commonly used in heavy-duty trucks and construction machinery, but provide a relatively harsh engagement feel.

Ceramic-based: Produced by combining ceramic materials with metals. They have a high friction coefficient, excellent resistance to high temperatures and wear, and can withstand high torque. They are suitable for high-performance or high-horsepower vehicles, but may generate noise or chatter.

Organic composite materials: Based on aramid (Kevlar), fiberglass, and similar fibers, combined with resins and fillers. These materials offer well-balanced performance, good heat dissipation, and smooth engagement, making them the most commonly used type for passenger vehicles.

Others (such as asbestos): Asbestos fabric was used in early clutch designs, but has been gradually phased out due to health and environmental concerns.
