The appropriate tire pressure for cars is usually between 2.2 and 2.5. Do we need to adjust tire pressure for factors such as season and load?
The effect of seasonal temperature changes on tire pressure can be ignored. For unloaded or half-loaded vehicles, refer to the lower limit of the recommended tire pressure sticker as a reference value, and refer to the upper limit of the tire pressure as a reference value for full load.
In addition to these factors, cold tires and hot tires can cause deviations in the measured tire pressure values. Therefore, when measuring tire pressure, it is necessary to check it when the tires are cold to ensure that the tire pressure value is accurate.
How to check tire pressure?
If the vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, the tire pressure will be indirectly or directly displayed on the dashboard. When the tire pressure of the vehicle is abnormal, the tire pressure warning light on the dashboard will also light up accordingly.
If there is no tire pressure monitoring system, we can only use an air pressure gauge to check it. There are several types of tire pressure gauges. The digital tire pressure gauge is relatively simple and can directly display the value of tire pressure. The pointer-type tire pressure gauge needs to be read manually, which requires some learning cost.
In addition, many people choose to visually check tire pressure, which has lower accuracy but can be used in emergency situations. By checking the number of teeth in contact with the ground, it can be determined whether the tire pressure is normal. Generally, 4-5 teeth in contact with the ground indicate that the tire pressure is appropriate. If it exceeds this range, it may indicate that the tire pressure is too low, and if it is less than this range, it may indicate that the tire pressure is too high.
Do all four tires need to maintain the same air pressure?
Tire pressure should be kept as consistent as possible and should not differ too much. Otherwise, long-term driving will cause uneven tire wear, and severe cases may cause deviation and uneven distribution of braking force.
