When starting the vehicle, if an "Audi Pre-Sense" warning appears, the issue can typically be resolved by completing a driving cycle: unlock the vehicle, open and close the door, fasten your seatbelt, start the car, and drive.
While driving, an "Audi Pre-Sense" warning might occur due to insufficient distance from surrounding vehicles or pedestrians. In such cases, drivers should be cautious and maintain a safe following distance.
When your vehicle is too close to the one in front, Audi's Pre-Sense system is activated, and the seatbelt will automatically tighten. Vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control will have Audi Front Pre-Sense, while those with side assist will also feature Audi Rear Pre-Sense.
The front Pre-Sense system uses radar sensors to calculate the likelihood of a collision and, within its operational range, can identify potential crashes with vehicles or pedestrians. In such scenarios, the system alerts the driver through various sound and visual warnings and may even initiate a brake jolt as a warning signal.
Additionally, when necessary, the system may apply partial or full braking to reduce the vehicle's speed, helping the driver avoid or mitigate a collision. This system is particularly useful in preventing high-speed or low-speed rear-end collisions, unconscious lane departures at high speeds, and accidents involving pedestrians.
