Tesla's Robot Project Hits the Accelerator with Mass Hiring for 'Optimus'!

According to foreign media reports, Tesla updated a video about its humanoid robot project, Optimus, on social media over the weekend. The video showcased some of Optimus's current capabilities, such as its self-calibration process and the use of its visual system to classify objects.

Tesla also demonstrated actions that Optimus can smoothly execute, including seamlessly sorting items and performing basic yoga moves. Considering that the Optimus displayed on Tesla's AI Day in 2022 couldn't even walk independently, this undoubtedly represents a significant advancement.

The video update on Tesla's social media about the latest progress of Optimus is aimed at recruiting more employees. Tesla's recruitment page reveals that the company is indeed hiring a large number of staff for the Optimus project. A simple search on Tesla's hiring page reveals over 50 job vacancies related to the Optimus project, all of which are based in Palo Alto, California.

Open positions for the Tesla Optimus team span multiple disciplines, including software engineers, mechatronics engineers, robot CAE engineers, embedded software engineers, robot operations engineers, and joint control engineers, among others. These public job postings indicate that Tesla is accelerating the pace of the Optimus project and will continue to expand the Optimus team.
