Teaching you how to familiarize yourself with and use onboard tools

Vehicles often travel on the road, and it is inevitable that some malfunctions may occur. If a problem arises, do you know how to handle the situation? In fact, before the vehicle is delivered, it comes equipped with some tools that are carried with the car. Today, we will introduce these onboard tools to ensure that they come in handy during unexpected situations.

1:Warning Triangle

As the most important safety indicator in the vehicle, the warning triangle's importance is self-evident. Whenever and wherever a vehicle experiences any malfunction, the first thing to do is to place the warning triangle behind the vehicle and activate the hazard lights. The warning triangle plays a crucial role in vehicle safety by promptly alerting following vehicles and preventing rear-end collisions caused by delayed observations.

2:Tow Hook

When the vehicle cannot start or gets stuck, the tow hook comes into play. The tow hook is a towing ring fixed on the front bumper of the vehicle. To tow the vehicle, the cover plate of the towing hole needs to be removed. Generally, these cover plates are designed with snap-on fasteners, so care should be taken regarding the angle and force used to avoid damaging the cover plate.

3:Fire Extinguisher

To use the fire extinguisher, remove the pin and safety clip. Hold the bottom of the fire extinguisher with one hand and place the other hand on the press handle. Aim at the base of the fire and press the fire extinguisher switch.

4:Jack/Wrench

Step 1: Before removing the tire, ensure that the vehicle is in the park (P) position, with the mechanical/electronic parking brake engaged. Retrieve the spare tire and tools from the trunk, preparing for the upcoming work. It is worth noting that the spare tire is usually secured to the trunk and may require unscrewing the securing screw before removing the spare tire.

Step 2: After the preparation work is completed, the next step is to loosen the tire screws, but remember not to remove them completely. This is done for safety reasons because the screws are tightly secured. When the tire is lifted with the jack, removing the screws at that time may affect the balance of the vehicle. Therefore, for safety purposes, it is advisable to release the tension of the screws first, making the subsequent disassembly process more convenient. Generally, tire screws are tightly fastened, and we can use leg strength to loosen the screws.

Step 3: After releasing the tension of the screws, we can proceed to the next step. First, use the jack to lift the vehicle. Operating the jack requires technical skills. Make sure the jack is positioned on a level surface and that the ground can withstand the pressure of the support. Only when these two conditions are met can the jack lifting operation be carried out.

Step 4: When the wheels are completely off the ground, use the wrench to unscrew the loosened screws, remove the tire, and replace it with the prepared spare tire. When tightening the screws, follow the same procedure as when they were removed. First, tighten all the screws to a certain degree, then slowly lower the jack and remove it, and finally, tighten all the screws. Additionally, when tightening the screws, do not tighten them all at once, as this may cause slight tire misalignment. Instead, tighten the screws in sections, diagonally, until they are all firmly tightened.
