Intake Forms

1:What is it?

1
Intake forms refer to the way air enters the engine during its operation. Generally, there are two types: naturally aspirated and forced induction.

2:Naturally Aspirated
Naturally aspirated, also known as naturally aspirated induction, is the intake form where the engine relies on the downward movement of the piston to create air pressure, allowing atmospheric pressure to directly enter the combustion chamber without the use of a turbocharger or supercharger.

3:Forced Induction
Forced induction can be further divided into turbocharging, supercharging, and twincharging.

Turbocharging
Turbocharging is a method that utilizes exhaust gases generated by the engine to drive a turbine, which in turn drives a compressor to compress the incoming air.

Supercharging
Supercharging involves the use of a mechanically driven air compressor connected to the crankshaft. The power from the engine's rotation is used to drive the compressor, which compresses the incoming air.

Twincharging
Twincharging combines both turbocharging and supercharging. It consists of both a turbocharger and a supercharger working together, utilizing the advantages of both systems for optimal performance.
