The lock sound on a Toyota vehicle can be activated through the horn by pressing both the lock and unlock buttons on the key simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will enable the horn to sound when the vehicle is locked. If this method does not activate the lock sound, you can visit a repair shop or a Toyota 4S dealership to connect the OBD system and enable the lock sound feature through programming.

However, some models released later do not come with a factory-installed lock sound module to avoid disturbing residents at night or in residential areas. In such cases, the lock sound can only be activated by installing this module afterward.
How the Lock Sound Horn Works:
The lock sound horn functions by energizing an electromagnetic coil, which causes the relay's contact switch to close. This allows current to flow through the horn wiring, activating the electromagnet inside the horn, which makes the diaphragm vibrate, producing sound.
Purpose of the Lock Sound:
The lock sound helps the car owner locate their vehicle in a crowded parking lot or underground garage by identifying the sound of the horn, making it easier to find their car among many. It also allows the owner to confirm that the vehicle has been successfully locked.
How to Control Toyota's Windows from Outside the Car:
During hot summer days, lowering the windows in advance can help air circulate inside the vehicle and cool it down faster. To do this, simply press and hold the unlock button for more than 3 seconds, and all windows will lower. Conversely, to raise all the windows, press and hold the lock button for more than 3 seconds before leaving the car.
