On October 22, Qualcomm Technologies announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Google aimed at driving the digital transformation of the automotive industry. Building on their longstanding collaboration, Qualcomm and Google will utilize complementary technologies from the Snapdragon Digital Chassis™, Android™ Automotive OS, and Google Cloud to create a new, standardized reference platform for developing generative AI (GenAI)-enhanced cockpit solutions. Google AI will support this framework to deliver GenAI-powered in-cabin experiences, such as intuitive voice assistants, immersive map interactions, and real-time updates that anticipate driver needs. These experiences are powered by the Snapdragon® heterogeneous edge AI SoC and Qualcomm® AI Hub, simplifying the deployment of AI models for visual, audio, and voice applications in the cockpit.

Nakul Duggal, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Automotive, Industry Solutions, and Cloud at Qualcomm Technologies, stated: "Our technology partnership with Google enables innovations that support the development of cutting-edge, GenAI-enhanced solutions. This is a major milestone in unlocking new potential for automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, while empowering the industry to create secure, advanced digital experiences. We look forward to expanding our collaboration with Google to drive automotive innovation and accelerate time-to-market, helping customers leverage our ecosystem to deliver seamless development experiences."
Patrick Brady, Vice President of Engineering at Google, added: "The automotive industry is on the verge of a major transformation driven by advancements in generative AI, autonomous driving solutions, and the ability to update software features throughout the lifecycle of the vehicle. We are excited to continue our long-term collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies through this strategic partnership, developing innovative solutions for software-defined vehicles and demonstrating the power of joint innovation to shape the future of transportation."
