According to media reports, Mercedes-Benz plans to release a brand-new ultra-luxury electric MPV in 2026. The new model will be based on the VAN.EA platform, which Mercedes unveiled in 2023.

Earlier this year, Mercedes introduced the Vision V concept vehicle, which offers a glimpse into the design direction of its upcoming high-end van. The concept features a futuristic look with a short front overhang and a streamlined silhouette. Mercedes stated that this design language will serve as the blueprint for all future MPV models under the brand.
The interior of the new model is inspired by the "Private Lounge" concept, featuring a retractable 65-inch mega-screen cinema system. Once passengers board and the doors are closed, the screen automatically rises from beneath the floor, creating an immersive audiovisual experience. The Vision V concept is also equipped with a Dolby Atmos surround sound system, boasting 42 speakers throughout the vehicle-some of which are cleverly integrated into the seats.
Additionally, the system includes seven projectors to create a 360-degree immersive environment. When switched to audio mode, the digital soundbar and ambient lighting intelligently sync with the rhythm of the music, offering passengers a multisensory entertainment experience.
This ultra-luxury MPV can also transform into a mobile gaming hub, with the ability to provide a "driving within a car" virtual driving experience (controlling a virtual vehicle while sitting in a moving real one). The system features three innovative modes: an interactive shopping experience, a full-recline relaxation mode, and a popular in-car karaoke feature.
Following its global debut in Shanghai this April, the Vision V concept officially began its world tour this week. On June 11, Mercedes announced that Dubai will be the first stop of the global showcase.
Mercedes is expected to unveil the production version of the model in 2026. While the final version won't completely replicate the Vision V concept, more details on pricing and technical specifications will be released closer to launch. However, consumers should expect that this vehicle will be positioned far from the affordable segment.
