According to Reuters, Lucid has announced a recall of over 2,000 units of the Lucid Air luxury electric sedan. The primary reason for this recall is a potential malfunction in a component of early versions that could affect the driver's visibility, posing a safety risk.

Lucid submitted the recall notice to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on January 10, stating that they expect approximately 1% of the recalled vehicles to be affected by this issue.
The recalled vehicles include the 2022 and 2023 models of the Lucid Air sedan, and the high-voltage cooling liquid heater (HVCH) in these vehicles may have a potential malfunction. The heater is responsible for interior heating and defogging. In the recall report, Lucid mentioned, "The lack of defogging ability poses a safety hazard as it could potentially restrict the driver's visibility."
Lucid stated that a software update will be conducted in mid-month to promptly identify and warn drivers in case of malfunctions. Lucid's service centers will be responsible for replacing faulty HVCH components.

In addition, Lucid released delivery and production data for 2023 earlier this week, but the results were disappointing. To align with its production capacity, Lucid lowered delivery expectations in November, ultimately achieving the target. However, Lucid only produced 8,428 vehicles and delivered 6,001. In the fourth quarter, Lucid's deliveries amounted to 1,734 vehicles, representing a approximately 10% decrease compared to the same period in 2022 when 1,932 vehicles were delivered.
