Italy Supports EU Tariff Increase on Chinese EVs

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that Italy supports the European Commission's proposal to impose tariffs on imported Chinese electric vehicles. "We back the Commission's tariff proposal to protect the competitiveness of our companies. We want trade plans to be established on an equal footing, and our companies must compete on equal terms."

EV Market Share in the EU Could Reach 24% by 2025

The Transport & Environment (T&E) organization noted that by 2025, the market share of fully electric vehicles in the EU could reach between 20% and 24%, primarily due to lower prices for EVs. However, factors such as subsidy reductions and trade barriers have caused a slowdown in EV sales in the EU, with market share reaching only 14% in the first half of this year.
