Hyundai Motor's U.S. sales reached a new all-time high in November, driven by strong consumer demand for its impressive lineup of electric vehicles (EVs). The company's best-selling IONIQ 5 SUV more than doubled its sales compared to the same month last year, setting a new monthly sales record in the U.S.
Record-Breaking November Sales
In November, Hyundai sold 76,008 vehicles in the U.S., continuing its record-breaking momentum. Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, attributed this growth to the increasing demand for EVs and hybrid vehicles.
Compared to November 2023, Hyundai's EV sales grew by 77%, while hybrid vehicle sales soared by 104%. Overall, sales of Hyundai's electrified models (including EVs, plug-in hybrids, and hybrids) increased by 92% year-over-year.
Several models, including the Santa Fe HEV, Tucson PHEV, Tucson HEV, and IONIQ 5, achieved new monthly sales records in November.
IONIQ 5: Leading the Charge
The IONIQ 5 remains one of the top-selling EVs in the U.S. Last month, Hyundai sold 4,989 units of the IONIQ 5, a 110% increase from November 2023 (2,372 units) and an 11% rise from the previous month's record.
From January to November 2024, Hyundai sold a total of 39,805 IONIQ 5 vehicles in the U.S., a 30% year-over-year increase. The launch of the 2025 IONIQ 5 has further boosted its popularity.
2025 IONIQ 5: Enhanced Features and Extended Range
The 2025 IONIQ 5 offers longer range, enhanced features, and a sleeker design. It also includes a NACS port, enabling access to Tesla's Supercharger network.
Base model: $43,975 (including $1,475 destination fee), 245 miles (392 km) range.
Long-range model: Starting at $46,550, with a 318-mile (508 km) range.
XRT trim: Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, priced at $56,875.
Looking Ahead
With the IONIQ 9, Hyundai's first three-row electric SUV, set to launch next year, the company is poised for further growth in the U.S. market.
