According to media reports, Hyundai has officially launched the latest electric version of the Creta in the Indian market. The new model has a starting price slightly above $20,000, with a range of nearly 300 miles (approximately 480 kilometers). The Creta Electric marks Hyundai's first electric SUV to be manufactured in India.
Earlier this month, Hyundai unveiled the electric Creta at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

The electric Creta is available in four trims: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. The top-of-the-line Excellence version is priced at 2.35 million Indian rupees, approximately $27,200. In comparison, the starting price of the fuel-powered version of the Creta is 1.099 million rupees, around $12,800.
Hyundai offers two battery pack options for the electric Creta, with capacities of 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, delivering ranges of 390 kilometers and 473 kilometers, respectively.
Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India, stated that Hyundai believes the electric Creta will "further enhance the appeal of this undisputed ultimate SUV."
Hyundai plans to introduce five new electric vehicles in India by 2030, including the newly launched Creta Electric. To meet the country's growing demand for EVs, Hyundai is also planning to launch electric three-wheelers.
Since its debut in India in 2015, the Hyundai Creta has achieved significant success in the market. In 2024, Creta sales in India reached 186,919 units, the highest annual sales since its launch.
Under the leadership of the Creta, Hyundai's overall sales in India reached a new record of 605,433 units in 2024, up from 602,111 units in 2023. Including exports, Hyundai India's total sales in 2024 were 764,119 units.
Earlier this month, Garg stated, "Hyundai Motor India has set a domestic sales record for the third consecutive year, reflecting customers' preference for the Hyundai brand as their trusted smart mobility solution provider."
The Creta has been a key driver of Hyundai's growth in India, accounting for more than 30% of Hyundai India's total sales. Garg added, "The Creta continues to solidify Hyundai Motor India's position as the SUV market leader in India, helping the company capture 67.6% of the domestic SUV market share in 2024."
