GAC-Toyota released its sales figures for September, totaling 83,084 units. Of these, electrified models accounted for 28,221 sales, making up 34% of the total. The three flagship models sold 35,484 units, contributing 43%. Moreover, the GAC Toyota Frontlander set a new historical sales record, with monthly sales exceeding 20,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 113%.
Currently, there are nine available models of the GAC-Toyota Frontlander, priced between 125,800 to 184,800 yuan. The new car offers a gasoline version and a hybrid version equipped with the fifth-generation THS hybrid system. The gasoline version is powered by a 2.0L engine, with a maximum power output of 171 horsepower and a peak torque of 205 Nm, paired with a CVT transmission.
The hybrid model combines a 2.0L engine with an electric motor, offering a system maximum power of 144 kW and a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 4.57L/100km. It features a compact, high-speed motor that enhances power output while reducing losses. The PCU electronic control unit has achieved a 2% reduction in size and a 17% weight reduction, decreasing losses by about 10%. Notably, it also uses a newly developed lithium battery system which, while achieving a 34% reduction in size and a 44% weight reduction, enhances electric output by 8%. According to official statements, its acceleration capability from 0-60km/h has improved by 14%.
