Changan Automobile announced that Mr. Klaus Bischoff, the former Global Design Head of Volkswagen Group, has joined Changan Automobile, taking the position of Vice President in charge of Changan's global design operations.
Mr. Klaus Bischoff officially joined Volkswagen as an interior designer in 1989. From 2000 to 2002, he served as the head of Volkswagen's interior design. From 2002 to 2007, he was in charge of Volkswagen's exterior design. From 2007 to 2019, he held the position of Volkswagen's Global Design Head, and from 2020 to 2022, he served as the Global Design Head of the Volkswagen Group.
Mr. Klaus Bischoff oversaw the design work for all 12 brands under Volkswagen, including Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and others. He has participated in and been responsible for the design of several globally best-selling and star models of Volkswagen. He personally designed the "fourth-generation Volkswagen family product series". Recognized as one of the world-renowned designers, he once served on the jury for the German iF Product Design Award (iF Industrie Forum Design) and was a judge for the 2022 CDN Personality Awards. He boasts rich experience in automobile design and leadership of global design teams, possesses a forward-looking international perspective, and excels at coordinating group design planning and management matters.
His notable works include the fifth to eighth generation Golf, Passat, Beetle, Bugatti Veyron, and electric vehicles under the Volkswagen Group, including the Volkswagen ID. series.
