Denso Restructures Organization And Management

According to media reports, Japanese automotive parts supplier Denso has announced adjustments to its organizational structure and management team, set to take effect on January 1, 2025. The changes aim to maximize the company's value within the automotive industry and the broader mobility ecosystem.

Denso will establish a new "Electric Sora-Mobi Business Promotion Department" within its Electrification Business Group, focusing on advancing power propulsion technologies for the aerial mobility sector. This department will leverage cutting-edge R&D capabilities, production technologies, and quality assurance to achieve Denso's ambition for large-scale production in the future.

As part of its efforts to enhance its lineup of electric drive systems and components across various electrified mobility platforms-including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs)-Denso will restructure its inverter business.

Additionally, the Modules and Power Cards Department within Denso's Advanced Devices Business Group will be merged with its Electrification Business Group. The User Experience Innovation Center in the Mobility Electronics Business Group will integrate the Human Research functions from the R&D Center to form a new "Customer Experience Center Department." This new department will focus on creating innovative user and customer experiences to meet the needs of a more connected and integrated mobility society.

Denso will also establish a new "Hydrogen Business Development Department" to capitalize on its expertise in thermal management and advanced materials technology. This department will focus on fostering connections within the hydrogen industry and contributing to a carbon-neutral future.

In terms of leadership changes, Denso announced that Senior Executive Officer Yasuhiko Yamazaki has been promoted to Executive Vice President, succeeding Yukihiro Shinohara, who is retiring from the position. Additionally, Senior Directors Katsuhiko Takeuchi and Yasuhisa Sakurai have been appointed as Senior Executive Officers.
