Recently, we obtained a set of official images of the BYD Tang L. The new model adopts the brand's latest family design language and may become the flagship model of the Dynasty series. It has already been submitted for approval to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and features a new powertrain system.
The new vehicle showcases an entirely new family design language, with a strong emphasis on style. The front of the car presents an "X" shape, adding visual impact. The "Dragon Beard" trim is designed as a continuous strip, integrating LED daytime running lights on both sides. The high and low beam headlights are integrated into the sides of the front bumper. Additionally, it features an active front grille, and the roof is equipped with a new laser radar system.
The side profile uses multiple lines to create a strong sense of layering. The car is also equipped with hidden door handles, further reducing aerodynamic drag. The front and rear fender lines are concave, paired with low-drag wheels and intricate lines, giving the car a more muscular appearance.
The rear features a new through-type taillight design, complemented by a roof spoiler and vertically arranged high-mounted brake lights, making the car highly recognizable. The suspension system is expected to feature a front MacPherson strut and a rear five-link setup, along with the Cloud Chassis-C system.
In terms of powertrain, the new model is available in both plug-in hybrid and pure electric versions. The plug-in hybrid uses the fifth-generation DM technology, with a 1.5T engine producing a maximum power of 115 kW and an electric motor with a maximum power of 200 kW. The electric-only range varies between 135 km, 150 km, and 165 km. The pure electric version will be upgraded to the e-platform 3.0, with a single-motor version producing a maximum power of 500 kW, while the dual-motor version will have front and rear motor outputs of 230 kW and 580 kW, respectively.
